Cory Jefferson showcased a balanced offensive arsenal in scoring a game-high 28 points and Alaska broke away in the 2nd quarter to win 107-79 on Saturday against a GlobalPort squad that was missing Terrence Romeo.
Jefferson was a late addition to the team but he had an effective debut in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at Cuneta Astrodome, shooting 11 of 19 from the field and 4 of 7 from downtown, on top of 14 rebounds.
According to reports, Romeo, who led the recent Philippine Cup in scoring, missed the game for undisclosed health reasons.
Stanley Pringle tried to fill the scoring void left by his backcourt mate, scoring a team-high 27 points, but without the threat of its primary offensive weapon, GlobalPort was no match over the weekend.
