Philippine Superliga-F2 Logistics Manila put up a good fight before succumbing to Italy's Pomi Casalmaggiore in Pool A of the 2016 Women’s Club World Championship at the MOA Arena in Pasay City on Thursday.
FTL rallied in the third set before bowing to Pomi, 25-19 25-19 25-21.
Compared to the host team’s match against Rexona-Sesc Rio last Tuesday, Jaja Santiago and the rest of the crew had a relatively better performance against Pomi.
Santiago had 11 points, while Lindsay Stalzer and Stephanie Niemer had nine points each for FTL.
“I'm really thankful for my whole teammates, they did a really good job all the game and it was just a lack of concentration and we came back,” said Klara after the game.
All in all, Pomi had 40 attacks against FTL's 36. The host team also had 20 errors compared to the Italians' 16.
With the win, Pomi formalized its move to the semifinal round with a 2-1 record.
FTL, on the other hand, remained winless in two games which meant its exit from the tournament.
