MANILA, Philippines – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa is hoping that his presence does not bring bad luck to Ginebra as he attended Game 5 of the 2016 PBA Governors' Cup Finals on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.
Dela Rosa also attended Game 1, which was won by the Meralco Bolts, 114-109, in overtime. Afterward, Ginebra fans on social media jokingly said that it was a case of "panalo na, naging bato pa," a play on Dela Rosa's nickname.

"Kaya Game 2, 'di ako nanood. Game 3, 'di ako nanood kasi baka ako na naman ang dahilan," he also said.
"Baka ito, tuloy-tuloy na."
A big Ginebra fan, Dela Rosa said he learned how to play basketball on the dust courts of Davao, but never reached varsity level.
"Hilig lang talaga," he said. "Sa barrio, 'yung pustahan na diyes centavos, shooting-shooting sa barrio."
The police chief said he also competed in PNP leagues.

"May malaking premyo si Mayor Duterte noon, si Presidente," said Dela Rosa. "Half a million ang premyo niya, kaya nagpa-practice kami. Pinaghahandaan namin."
