If TNT KaTropa wants to get to the PBA Governors’ Cup finals, it will need to play a lot better than it did against Meralco in Game 2 of their best-of-five last Thursday.
The Texters were handed a 106-91 beating by Meralco and coach Jong Uichico said they will have to do something about that.
“We really need to play some defense, match their energy, match their intensity,” he said in FOX Sports Asia.
For his part, Meralco’s Jimmy Alapag sees a crucial Game 3 against TNT KaTropa.
With Meralco’s win on Thursday, the series has become a virtual best-of-three at 1-all.
“TNT has been playing great the entire conference, but I think we made great adjustments… we’ll look at the tapes and see what we can do. Our game on Saturday becomes the most important game of the series,” he said.
Alapag won it big for the Bolts in Game 2, upping his career triples to 593 and closing in on Allan Caidic’s three-point record of 598.
“If it happens, it’s a great accomplishment considering what Allan Caidic has done throughout his career, but it’s secondary,” he said.
“My whole focus is what I can do to help our team get Game 3.”
