MANILA, Philippines – After helping ensure that La Salle remains unbeaten in Season 79, veteran forward Jeron Teng earned UAAP Player of the Week honors.
The favorite to win the championship, the Green Archers are the only perfect team this season with a 4-0 record, their best start to the men's basketball tournament in 13 years.
Teng, who is eyeing a second UAAP title in his final season, is the second La Salle player to win the weekly individual honor after teammate Ben Mbala took the plum in the first week of the tournament.

He had 13 points, five boards, two assists, and two steals in La Salle's emphatic 100-62 win over University of Santo Tomas last Wednesday, where they handed the Growling Tigers their worst loss in a decade.
His best moment came against National University last Sunday, however, in a game that may serve as an early Finals preview.
Against the Bulldogs, Teng fired eight of his 23 points in the final quarter to help La Salle overhaul a nine-point deficit and claim a 75-66 victory.
He also had three assists and two rebounds in 28 minutes of action while coming off the bench for the second straight game.
"As a player, I know it's my last year to play for La Salle, so ako, enjoy lang," Teng said after the game. "I'm just living my dream of playing for La Salle."
Teng earned the weekly honor over the Adamson pair of Dawn Ochea and Rob Manalang, and Far Eastern University big man Raymar Jose.
